Located in Shanghai, a city that blends Eastern and Western styles, the Hongshan design team takes minimalism as their pen and brand culture as their soul, creating a modern office space for ECCO China headquarters that is natural and harmonious, with people, objects, and time and space intertwined. Design is not limited to form, but through the unique material perception and craftsmanship spirit of the clothing industry, transforms ECCO's concept of "endurance, nature, and rhythm" into a poetic narrative that runs through space.
Reconstruction of Traditional Elements: When Shanghai Memories Meet Brand Genes
Space begins with a gaze upon the texture of the city. The common arched "opening" in old buildings in Shanghai is abstracted as flowing curved lines that run through the elevator hall and front hall. Light and shadow travel along curves, creating a profound sense of depth and symbolizing the brand's extension from tradition to the future. At the front hall, ECCO Forest is covered with rainbow glass to conceal the greenery, resembling a rainforest sanctuary in the city; The reception desk is made of the brand's core material - leather, presented with exquisite craftsmanship, outlining a warm and elegant tone in a minimalist style.
Tradition is not replicated here, but quietly woven into it through contemporary translation. The walls on both sides are interlocked with red bricks and leather bricks, creating a contrasting texture that evokes associations with Shanghai Shikumen. The highlight is an art installation embroidered with Su embroidery technique on ECCO environmentally friendly transparent leather, presenting the brand's historical text and images delicately. The dialogue between millennium embroidery and modern leather not only connects Suzhou and Hangzhou handicrafts with Nordic craftsmanship, but also allows space to carry the temperature of time and the thickness of culture.
Natural harmony and minimalist philosophy: let space breathe, let light and shadow narrate
Design always places natural harmony at its core. The conference area faces the Huangpu River scenery directly, and the flowing river and skyline become the most vivid background of the space. Indoor use of Swedish recycled nylon carpets, incorporating sustainable concepts into details. The semi transparent partition introduces soft natural light, blurring the boundaries between the inside and outside, and creating a peaceful and hazy atmosphere.
Minimalism is not empty. In the rest and office areas, material and light become the main characters. The warmth of wood, the coldness of metal, and the delicacy of leather intertwine with rich expressions under the baptism of natural light. A large amount of space is left blank, but it is filled with tension due to the restrained polishing of details - a Masai floor lamp lights up the corner, and a SAYA animal shaped seat is quietly placed, all stirring up a vivid ripple in the silence. The non-linear curve of the ceiling unfolds like water waves, echoing the theme of "rhythm"; The wall art installation is inspired by wheat fields, once again bringing the natural scenery of ECCO's Danish factory into the interior, making the brand's roots within reach.
Translation of Brand Culture Space: From Functional Scenarios to Spiritual Places
As ECCO China headquarters, this is also a three-dimensional declaration of the brand spirit. The designer transforms the concept of "persistence, naturalness, and rhythm" into a perceptible spatial experience:
Durable, reflected in respect for traditional craftsmanship, adherence to environmentally friendly materials, and timeless minimalist aesthetics;
Nature is the introduction of light, scenery, greenery, and natural materials to create a relaxed, comfortable, and healthy working environment;
Rhythm is achieved through the flow of curves, changes in light and shadow, and flexible and adaptable functional layouts, making the space vibrant with human activities.
From the Shanghai landscape installation laser carved from old window frames to the background wall collage of Danish and Shanghai imagery, the design constantly emphasizes the brand's core of connecting tradition and modernity, and integrating Eastern and Western cultures. The General Manager's Office is rational and warm, while the VIP Lounge is low-key and exquisite. Every corner embodies ECCO's pursuit of quality and care for humanity.
This creation by Hongshan Design is like a carefully arranged weaving. They take the regional context of Shanghai as the longitude and ECCO's brand culture as the latitude, using minimalist and delicate techniques to interweave traditional elements, natural imagery, ergonomics, and sustainable thinking into a breathing whole. This is not only an office space, but also a container of brand spirit, allowing people to feel the constant rhythm that originates from nature, returns to peace, and always moves forward in every interaction with the space.
