Julius Baer's London headquarters office environment design: a model for spatial planning in the financial industry
Project Background
The London headquarters of Swiss wealth management firm Julius Baer (Baosheng Group) will complete its relocation in 2023, led by the HLW design team. With a 130 year brand heritage as the core, it aims to create a financial office space that combines historical heritage and modernity. The project is located in Edwardian era architecture, integrating industrial aesthetics and geometric lines to create a warm and elegant benchmark for the financial industry office.
The open reception area runs through two floors and is equipped with flexible conference rooms, mobile coffee bars, and informal social spaces, supporting diverse scene needs such as customer negotiations and small roadshows.
• Underground (Employee Welfare Center)
Focusing on health and collaboration, setting up meditation rooms, mother and baby rooms, fitness centers, and bicycle storage areas to enhance employees' sense of belonging through private design.
• Top level (cultural and social hub)
Utilize elevated space to create a theater style activity area, connecting outdoor terraces; The independent 'Reading Corner' advocates an immersive reading culture and incorporates F1 Formula racing art installations to strengthen brand personality.
2. Aesthetics and Material Innovation
Based on the texture of Edwardian architecture, combined with industrial style metal frames and natural wood finishes, create a warm and elegant visual hierarchy.
Geometric lines run through public areas, and customized steel stairs become the core of spatial flow, echoing the brand's values of "rationality and elegance coexisting".
3. Financial industry adaptation design
Adopting a modular furniture system to enhance collaboration efficiency, creating a dynamic balance between open workstations and private meeting rooms.
Brand art collections and customized furnishings are integrated into spatial details, showcasing the cultural depth of a century old financial enterprise.

This project conveys the concept of "customer first" through spatial narrative, combining the rigor of traditional finance with the flexibility of modern office, providing high-end service scenarios for high net worth clients, while building an efficient collaborative field that inspires innovation, becoming a reference model for spatial design in the financial industry.
