The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) office located in the center of Prague, designed by the Penta Real Estate team, perfectly embodies how to integrate a work from home atmosphere into a professional consulting work environment. The project covers an area of approximately 1300 square meters. Previously, the team was troubled by poor sound insulation and insufficient lighting in the co working space. Therefore, the office environment design of the new space clearly points to "open and bright, warm like home".
The core of design is to create a strong sense of community. A spacious community space has been planned in the center of the office, equipped with a homely wooden staircase seat and a large kitchen. This space serves as a hub for informal communication and can also hold all staff meetings. At the same time, the two floors are reasonably distributed with project rooms, private offices, as well as a large number of quiet corners and telephone booths, ensuring that focused work is not disturbed and achieving a balance of dynamic and static separation.
In terms of visual and material aspects, the overall space is based on BCG's iconic dark green color scheme, and is gradually applied to furniture, soft furnishings, and acoustic elements through multiple sets of color gradients, which are rich yet unified. The extensive use of wooden veneers is particularly emphasized by customers, from office furniture to profiled glass partitions, and even to oak bookcases that run through two layers, warm wood establishes a warm theme tone. The concept of green sustainability is not only reflected in the greening of roofs and terraces, but also in the carefully arranged landscape plants and installations, creating a vibrant visual effect in the reception area and chef's bar counter.
As a multinational corporation, BCG's offices across the country emphasize the integration of local culture. This case presents a fusion of diverse cultures through original graphics: mosaic film on glass partitions, wallpaper depicting Prague's iconic buildings, and locally branded furniture such as TON chairs and Bomma lighting fixtures, all cleverly incorporating local characteristics.
This project has gone through multiple rounds of seminars and repeated discussions with the client team on color and material, ultimately creating an excellent space that not only meets the efficient work needs of professional consultants, but also carries the comfort and warmth of home.
